About Odisha Pro T20 League 2026

The Odisha Pro T20 League (OPTL) is the official franchise-based T20 tournament of the state, organised by the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) in partnership with Arivaa Sports. The league was launched in September 2025 with the clear goal of building a professional pathway for cricketers from every district of Odisha. The inaugural season was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Barabati Stadium and ran from September 17 to 26, 2025, with 18 matches played across 10 days. Cuttack Panthers won the maiden title, beating Sambalpur Warriors by 5 runs (DLS method) in a rain-affected final.

Season 2 in 2026 brings a few notable updates. The tournament window has shifted slightly to September 20 to September 29, 2026, and the defending champions are entering the season with a refreshed identity, competing as the Kataka Panthers under the leadership of former IPL player Biplab Samantaray. The Rourkela franchise also comes in with a new identity as the Rourkela Superstars. The 2026 edition will feature 17 matches, with every league fixture practically working like a knockout given the tight qualification race. OCA has also confirmed that national selectors and IPL scouts will be tracking games closely this year, giving players a bigger platform than ever before.
